HEBREW School
OUR STUDENTS ARE EXPOSED TO HEBREW words beginning in kindergarten, however, we begin a concentrated focus on learning the Hebrew needed to read the prayers of our services beginning in third grade. Students will attend an additional class one afternoon each week during the school year where Hebrew print and script are learned in preparation for their B’nai Mitzvah training and so that they may participate fully during worship services. At Temple Habonim we use the Hebrew in Harmony Curriculum, which, rooted in music, encourages students to create meaning from personal prayer and make emotional connections through communal prayer. There is hands-on learning through their app, which is able to track progress and be seen from anywhere!
