An Open Letter From Margie

A Night to Remember
I will hold in my heart always the special evening of November 19. I started crying the minute we turned left into the Temple driveway & didn't stop until we returned home!
It started when I saw all the cars & my daughter was going to drop me off at the door so I didn't have to walk, but John (bless his heart!) had saved my old parking space with some cones & we were able to drive right in!
I can't believe everyone came to see me, I was thrilled and honored! how can I possibly say "thank you" enough for all the love you all gave me that evening & for all of my 39 years at Temple Habonim? How can I thank you enough for the plants, flowers, gifts, hundreds of cards with such beautiful notes, the retirement plan, the beautiful book lovingly puttogether by Ruth & Leslie L, the plaque for the Tree of Life, all the wonderful & generous donations- I can never, ever thank you all enough!
I wanted to say so much that evening, but when I turned around and saw all of your beautiful & precious faces, I lost it and couldn't say what was in my heart.
Thanks to everyone that got up to speak, you brought back so many memories! Thanks to Rabbi Klein for interjecting some humor in the service & for his great poem! Thanks Alan & Pat Buff, for making me laugh amongst the tears! Thanks so much to everyone else who spoke (I don't want Cliff to have to cut this short, so I won't mention you all, but you are all in my heart!) Thanks for the beautiful Oneg, the delicious pastries made my the wonderful Temple cooks, beautiful centerpieces & balloons, everything was just perfect!
You all helped me through the last three months, 2 operations, & 3 hospitals! I've never really been sick, so this really threw me for a loop, but your love helped me to get through the dark days and my daughter did her best to keep me from getting discouraged.
So here I am, retiring after 39 years. I've always said that I wanted to work at Temple Habonim until I was 100, but I guess that's not meant to be! It's been a joy to have worked with Rabbi "R" and Rabbi Klein, all of the board members, the presidents & the wonderful members of the Temple Habonim family.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will never forget each and every one of you and I hope you won't forget me!
