On Wednesday, September 17th the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island is proud to sponsor its first WaterFire Ò Providence in partnership with 30 synagogues and agencies throughout greater Rhode Island.

The Jewish Community WaterFire will begin at WaterPlace park at 6:30pm with a special torch lighting ceremony.   The torchbearers, selected by the co-sponsoring synagogues and agencies, are being honored as active members of the greater Rhode Island Jewish community and will also represent 60 flames for the 60 years of independence of the state of Israel.   The lighting of the braziers and community singing of Hatikvah will follow this special torch ceremony.
